Georgetown Christmas Market

Each December the town of Georgetown transforms for two weekends into a bustling Christmas scene reminiscent of Christmas of long ago. Thousands come to this tiny mountain town to experience a traditional holiday where Christmas hasn't changed in 100 years: roasted chestnuts, holiday shopping, horse-drawn wagon rides through historic Georgetown, and wonderful sights and smells. Visitors enjoy appearances by St. Nicholas in his traditional dress and the daily procession of the Santa Lucia, as well as carolers in Victorian costume, dancers, and other family entertainment. Adorned with lights and Christmas greenery and blanketed with snow, the quaint, historic town of Georgetown, Colorado has been a Christmas tradition for generations of Colorado families.
Event Location: This event will take place on 6th Street in Georgetown. Event Dates: December 6, 7, 13 and 14.

To welcome the arrival of 2009, the New Year's Eve Fireworks Downtown will once again fill the skies twice during the evening. The first show will entertain families and others looking for an early celebration, while the second show officially marks the start of the New Year at midnight. The two fireworks programs are identical, and both are launched simultaneously from dual sites along the 16th Street Mall.

The winter journey begins on a light trail around The Wildlife Experience offering one spectacular display of lights after another. The trail leads guests to the whimsical village full of charm and merriment where children can meet Santa and his reindeer! Tours are approximately one hour in length and include visits to both indoor and outdoor facilities. Reservations are required for groups of 15 or more.
